How This Calculator Works

Every passport and visa photo requirement starts as a physical size in millimeters or inches. To turn that into a pixel size for a digital photo, we use the standard formula pixels = mm ÷ 25.4 × DPI — dividing by 25.4 converts millimeters to inches, then multiplying by your chosen resolution (dots per inch) gives the pixel count. Head-height and eye-line guidance is converted the same way, so you can check whether a face is correctly sized and positioned before submitting a photo. Requirements reflect each country's publicly published standard policy and can change without notice, so always confirm with the issuing authority before you apply.
